What is a book rap?
A rap or book rap is an exciting teaching and learning adventure. The focus may be on one title, an author or a groups of texts. A blog is used to host weekly discussion points in response to a text (books, films, websites), topic or event, stimulate classroom activities, and provide opportunities for teachers and students to share responses and ideas with other schools.
Each rap features support material you can integrate into a teaching unit. This support material addresses relevant syllabus outcomes and includes collaboratively planned lesson ideas including teaching strategies, proformas for use by students, and other resources, such as special guests available online, resources for use with IWBs, and WebQuests.
Given the complexities of school planning, the timing of a particular rap may not fit your timetable, however teaching points and resources remain available to be done anytime, albeit with the loss of interschool interaction. Past raps index
